After seventeen years as missionaries with Lutheran Bible Translators, the time has come to close another chapter of our lives as we retire effective March 31.
When we got married in 1970, neither of us ever dreamed of the many places that God would take us, the wonderful people He would bring into our lives, or the fantastic experiences He would have in store for us.
While this change brings some sadness to our hearts, we also look forward to what the future holds in store for us – the “knowns,” such as spending more time with our family, attending more activities with our grandchildren and becoming more active in our local church, as well as the “unknowns,” whatever they might be, including the possibility that God could have something special in mind so that we can use our media experience to further His Word.
The past seventeen years can definitely be summed up by the following excerpt from a quote that Dan often uses at the end of his e-mails – “… Wow! What a ride!”
Dan and Kay Finley have served in Scripture engagement ministry to people in Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, Fiji, Alaska, Brazil, Sierra Leone, Canada, and Arkansas. We celebrated their ministry with a retirement luncheon at the LBT Service Center on February 18th. Please join the missionaries and staff of LBT in praising God for their service and asking His blessings on their future.
