One of the biggest news stories of 2010 was the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull, a volcano in Iceland. It was certainly a spectacular event, but what made it newsworthy was how the ash cloud affected air traffic. Who would have thought that ash, a small, fine, innocuous substance, could bring so many people and planes, and so much cargo, to a virtual standstill?

The ash cloud was a countless quantity of particulates combined to create one gigantic mass. It just goes to show, small things added together can make a huge impact.

On December 3—Giving Tuesday—we’re raising funds for Bible printing and distribution. Our goal is $25,000. Gifts will help fund the reprint of the Bandi New Testament in Liberia and the Yala New Testament in Nigeria, where people are eager to once again have God’s Word in their hands. The Shekgalagari people of Botswana will also benefit as a portion of the money raised will cover the cost to print the first ever Shekgalagari New Testament.

It costs around $5.00 to print a Bible. In today’s world, a relatively small amount. Yet what a difference that one book can make! Please consider a gift of $5.00, $20.00, $50.00 or more. As always, donations—large or small—are greatly appreciated.

You may give online or call us at 660-225-0810. Our phone lines will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm CST on Giving Tuesday. Be sure to follow us on Facebook throughout the day for updates and greetings from our overseas partners, the people who will benefit from your generosity.

Nothing is more powerful than Scripture. Join with us this Giving Tuesday. Help share the life-changing Word of God!
