Relocation – Settling In

Today marks one week since the moving truck pulled up to the front doors of LBT’s new international office in Concordia, Missouri!

Unpacking took most of the day, along with a lot of muscle and a lot of sweat (it was in the 90s).  We’re still putting desks together and setting up equipment.  Lots of other things still haven’t found a home, but operations are slowly getting back underway.

It’s a bittersweet transition for some of us.  A newly refurbished building instead of the aging one we left is certainly a positive.  Instead of views of traffic we see fields and trees.  But it’s hard to leave the familiar and family behind.  Moving into a new home in a new city in a new state while setting up a new office and trying to keep the work flow moving forward is…well…a bit stressful.  Your prayers during this time are certainly appreciated.

We’re all finding that Concordia is a small town with a very big heart.  In fact, Hearts in Harmony is the town motto.  People have been welcoming, friendly, and helpful in every way possible.  We are so thankful for the support, encouragement and enthusiasm expressed by everyone we meet.

It seems like it’s been a long journey, but in truth, we’re just beginning.  Even after 50 plus years of ministry headquartered in three states, people are still in need of God’s Word in their heart languages.  And so we move forward, serving through God’s grace and with the prayers and support of partners who want to share the love of Christ with people around the world.
