Our Children Will Know

In the heart of Botswana, the Dean of a local congregation in Maun rises to read Scripture in Shekgalagari. Her voice carries through the church—steady, strong, filled with reverence.

For generations, her people were told their language was too complicated to write—too full of clicks, too difficult to preserve. “But now,” she says with quiet pride, “our language is written. We can read it, sing it, and pray in it.”

As a Shekgalagari speaker and leader, she’s seen how the New Testament has transformed worship. Youth read aloud in church. Families gather to share verses at home. Even funerals are filled with songs in their own tongue. “It has brought us to light,” she says. “Before, we were silent. Now, we are known.”

Her joy is not only for today, but for generations to come. “Our children will grow up hearing Bible stories in Shekgalagari,” she smiles. “They will know that God speaks our language.”

Your gift affirms the worth of every community, restoring dignity and joy as believers in Botswana and around the world proclaim, “God Speaks My Language!”
