Advent in the Word: Morning Mercies

REFLECTION
These verses were written by a man sitting in the ashes of a broken city. And yet, even there, he could say: “great is Your faithfulness.” That kind of hope doesn’t come from circumstances. It comes from knowing the character of God.
His compassion doesn’t run dry. His mercy isn’t rationed. It renews each morning, as certain as sunrise. That’s the kind of love we’re invited to receive in Advent; not sentimental, but steadfast. The kind that walks with us through loss, grief, waiting, or silence. Open Scripture today and let this be your anchor: whatever yesterday held, God’s mercies meet you here. New. Again.
Go Deeper: Read all of Lamentations 3:19–33. Where does Jeremiah find hope in suffering?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for mercy that never runs out. Teach us to greet each new day with trust in Your faithfulness. You are with us even in the ashes. Amen.
