Training in Kenya

Members of the Lutheran Bible Translators team are in Kenya this week for the Africa Scripture Engagement Conference and a training in Rev79.

Technology is an integral component of the Bible translation movement. Having the right tools and training increases the efficiency and effectiveness of Bible translation teams as they push their projects forward. Lutheran Bible Translator’s missionaries regularly consult and provide local teams with training using Paratext, which is a translation software created by Bible translators for Bible translators and supports translation efforts by providing, “consistent and accurate translation based on original texts.”

Rev79 is a globally accessible, real-time project management app that integrates with Paratext. Implementing Rev79:

• supports good stewardship of time and resources, and collaboration in the Bible Translation and Literacy Development movements
• improves project management by facilitating the planning, implementing, and tracking of goals towards desired outcomes
• improves project visibility across the organization or partnership network
• enables strategic collaboration by creating a secure data sharing environment to support networks and conversations
