Advent Devotion: Psalm 147:11

Reflection

“The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.” This verse reminds us that our hope is not in ourselves but in the steadfast love of the Lord. God’s faithfulness is a sure foundation, and His love never fails. In a world where human love can and does fail, this truth brings profound comfort and hope.

Advent invites us to renew our trust in God’s love. We often look to worldly accomplishments or relationships for security, but this verse points us back to God, whose love is perfect and unchanging. As we prepare for Christmas, let us remember that God’s love was fully demonstrated in sending His Son for our salvation. He takes delight in our humble trust and invites us to rest in the hope of His promises.

Prayer

Faithful God, thank You for Your unfailing love that sustains us. Teach us to put our hope in You alone, knowing that Your love never fails. May we trust in Your faithfulness and rejoice in the hope we have through Christ. Amen.
