Advent Devotion: Luke 2:15-16
Reflection
“When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’ So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.” The shepherds’ immediate response to the angelic message was faith in action. They hurried to see the fulfillment of God’s promise.
This passage calls us to respond to God’s faithfulness with eagerness and faith. Just as the shepherds sought the Savior, we, too, are invited to draw near to Him. Advent reminds us that God’s promises are worth pursuing and that His faithfulness leads us to life-changing encounters with Christ.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the example of the shepherds, who responded to Your message with faith. Help us to seek You with the same eagerness and trust. Strengthen our hope as we draw near to You and celebrate the fulfillment of Your promises. Amen.
