Advent Devotion: Jeremiah 29:11

Reflection

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Spoken to the Israelites in exile, these words reminded them that God had not forgotten His covenant or His people. Though they faced hardship, God’s plans for their ultimate good remained steadfast.

This verse is a reminder of God’s sovereignty and faithfulness in every season of life. While we may not always see His plans unfold in the ways we expect, we can trust that He is working for our eternal good. Through Jesus, we are given a hope that transcends present struggles and a future secured by His redeeming love. In Advent, we cling to the assurance that God’s plans culminate in the fulfillment of His promises in Christ.

Prayer

Sovereign Lord, thank You for the hope and future You have given us in Christ. Help us to trust in Your plans, even when the path seems uncertain. Strengthen our faith as we rest in Your faithful promises. Amen.
