Advent Devotion: Isaiah 7:14
Reflection
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” This promise, made during a time of fear and uncertainty, assured God’s people that He was with them. Immanuel, “God with us,” is the ultimate sign of God’s faithfulness. Jesus’ birth fulfilled this prophecy, showing that God’s love for us is not distant but deeply personal.
In Advent, we reflect on the miracle of the Incarnation—God becoming flesh to dwell among us. This truth brings hope because it reminds us that God doesn’t leave us to face life’s challenges alone. He is with us, working all things for our good and His glory. Even in seasons of waiting, we have confidence that the faithful God who sent His Son is still at work in our lives today.
Prayer
Lord God, thank You for the gift of Immanuel, Your Son who came to dwell with us. In moments of fear and doubt, remind us of Your constant presence and faithfulness. Strengthen our hope as we wait for the day when we will dwell with You forever. Amen.
