Advent in the Word: Hold Fast

REFLECTION
There’s a kind of hope that grits its teeth. That holds on when everything else says to let go. Hebrews 10 urges us to cling, to hold on so tightly, not because we’re strong, but because God is faithful. He is the reason we don’t waver. Not our circumstances. Not our track record. Just Him.
Advent is a season of active waiting—of rehearsing the promises of God while the world grows darker and the days colder. To hold fast is to rehearse His faithfulness. And we rehearse by returning to Scripture, by remembering stories of deliverance, by listening to Jesus speak through His Word. Your hope isn’t empty. It’s anchored in a God who has proven Himself time and again.
Go Deeper:
Read Hebrews 10:19–25 again with Christ’s coming in mind. How does the assurance of Jesus’ return, and His finished work on the cross, give you strength to hold firmly to hope today?
PRAYER
God of promise, help us hold fast. When doubts come, remind us of who You are. Strengthen our grip through Your Word and draw us nearer to Christ, our anchor. Amen.
