GOD WITH US

REFLECTION
This prophesy was given during a time of fear and political unrest. The people were uncertain. The king was wicked and idolatrous. Threats loomed from every side. Into that mess, God gave a sign, not of military triumph or political power, but the quiet promise of a child.
Immanuel. God with us.
That name carries more than comfort; it is a declaration of God’s character. He doesn’t remain distant from pain. He enters it. He comes near in our brokenness, our fear, our waiting. And in Jesus, the child born in Bethlehem, the Word made flesh, God fulfilled that promise. He came not just to dwell with us, but to save us.
If today feels heavy or uncertain, remember: God is with you. Not in theory. Not in metaphor. Really with you. Advent holds out this hope: God keeps His promises—and He does not leave us alone.
Go Deeper: Look at Matthew 1:22–23 to see how this prophecy is fulfilled. What does it mean that God is still with you?
PRAYER
Immanuel, God with us, thank You for stepping into our world, not as a distant idea, but as the living Word made flesh. You came close, and You remain close. Quiet our hearts today. Let Your nearness bring us peace. Amen.
