Advent in the Word: I Will Wait

REFLECTION
Micah lived in a time of corruption and collapse. Hope wasn’t easy to come by. But instead of giving in to despair, Micah made a choice: I will watch. I will wait. I will trust that God hears me. That’s the kind of hope we’re called to during Advent—not denial, but deliberate trust.
When we open the Bible and find the voices of the prophets, we meet people who trusted God in tension. Their circumstances didn’t instantly change, but their posture did. To wait on the Lord is to expect Him to be who He says He is. Not on our timeline, but always in His perfect faithfulness. If your prayers feel unanswered, if your waiting feels long, you’re in good company. The Lord hears you. And He will not leave you waiting forever.
Go Deeper: Read Micah 7:1–9 for context. What does it look like to wait with eyes fixed on God?
PRAYER
God, we choose to wait on You. Even when answers are slow, even when the road is long, teach us to trust Your faithfulness. Hear our prayers and renew our strength. Amen.
