Advent in the Word: A Sign in the Simple

REFLECTION
The sign of the Messiah wasn’t gold or thunder or temple. It was a child, wrapped like any other baby, lying in a feeding trough. Simple. Humble. Easy to miss…unless you were looking closely.
God’s faithfulness doesn’t always arrive in dramatic displays.
Sometimes it comes wrapped in silence. In small, holy things. In Scripture opened slowly. In answered prayer whispered quietly. The manger reminds us: the most extraordinary gift can be found in the most ordinary place. Where might God be speaking today—in ways that look simple, but carry eternal hope?
Go Deeper: Read 1 Corinthians 1:26–31. How does God use what is “low” to reveal what is lasting?
PRAYER
God of wonder, help us not to overlook the simple signs of Your faithfulness. Teach us to notice, to marvel, and to respond with trust. You speak through humble things. Let us listen well. Amen.
