Janine Pluger
Meet the Missionary
Janine Pluger joined Lutheran Bible Translators with her husband, Chris, and son, Sean, in 2010 where they served in Petauke, Zambia with the Nsenga Bible translation project who dedicated their New Testament in 2016.
After a pause in service, she returned to the field in 2021 living in Ethiopia and learning the Amharic language. In 2023, she began work as the Ethiopia Programs Data Coordinator. Through this role, Janine supports local translation teams focusing on long-range planning, goal setting, and reporting. She gets to be a liaison between the national workers on the field in Ethiopia and the LBT International Office in the U.S.
She now lives in Chipata, Zambia with her husband, Chris, where she continues to work remotely to help build Bible Translation capacity in the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) through her data coordinator role.
Their adult son, Sean, lives in Watertown, SD.
