Meet the Missionary
Michelle is serving as Program Assistant for Papua New Guinea, supporting the new projects in the region and traveling there when needed.
Michelle attended Concordia University St. Paul, where she completed her Director of Christian Outreach education (DCO) and later her Masters of Christian Outreach degree.
She was a missionary in Uganda with LCMS Missions for four years alongside her husband, Rev. Jacob Gillard, focusing on leadership development for pastors, evangelists, and their wives. Michelle has served on a short-term basis in South Sudan, Guatemala, India, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Jacob and Michelle lived and served in the inner cities of Baltimore and Minneapolis.
Michelle works remotely from her hobby farm in Cambridge, MN, where her husband serves a local congregation. They have two daughters who are pursuing university degrees.
