Help Lucy Chrismer support the Kerewe Bible Translation
Join Lucy’s Mission: Help Bring the Bible to Kerewe
A homeschooling lesson led Lucy and her siblings to a book that featured countries around the world. To her surprise, Lucy discovered that many do not have access to the Bible. Moved by this, Lucy, with the encouragement of her pastor father, initiated a heartfelt campaign. Their goal: to raise funds for the Lutheran Bible Translators, aiming to fundraise for the New Testament Translation for the Kerewe-speaking community in Tanzania.
Lucy’s mission was inspired by a conversation her father had with Rev. Dr. Tilahun Mendedo, who serves with Lutheran Bible Translators. Rev. Mendedo highlighted the need of the Kerewe. Now, this young girl’s vision has the potential to illuminate lives with God’s Word.
Your gifts help to make Lucy’s dream a reality. Your generous donation will bring the saving power of the Gospel to the Kerewe in the language they understand best. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference.
Support Lucy’s mission today. Scripture is more than words: it brings hope, life, and transformation.

“Always we are thinking of going to reach the unreached,” says Rev. Andrew Petro Gulle, bishop of the East of Lake Victoria Diocese (ELVD) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT).
The ELVD, in partnership with Lutheran Bible Translators, began translation work in 2018. Preliminary drafts of Scripture portions have been well-received in the community. Scripture apps allow people to read and listen to God’s Word on their phones. Church attendance is increasing as people anticipate the day when worship will be conducted entirely in Kerewe.
