Bridging language barriers to connect communities with God’s Word
Since 1990, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus South West Synod (EECMY-SWS) has passionately pursued local Bible translation initiatives. Focused on connecting people to Christ through the Gospel and demonstrating God’s love through holistic service, the synod aims to reach every local language.
Translation teams are diligently working on programs in seven languages: Konso, Dhirayta, Zayse, Ale, Tsamakko, Hamer, and Mosiye.
“God’s Word is perfect, understandable, and it clearly speaks to the hearts of many in my language,” shares a translation reviewer.

Empowering local leaders for transformative impact
We believe that every community deserves the opportunity to read the Bible in their own language. Your generous financial gifts and prayers empower Ethiopian leaders to accelerate the translation of Scripture into the languages that resonate with their people.
