Jim Laesch

Jim Laesch – In addition to his role as Associate Director, Jim Laesch provides leadership, direction, and coordination for LBT programs and missionaries in Southern and Eastern Africa. Jim regularly meets with international partners and language community leaders to explore and discover ways for God’s Word to be accessible for all people using the heart language.

Jim’s work in LBT spans 45 years. Jim and his wife Laura served 13 years in Liberia, living among the Northern Grebo people, helping to develop their written language and built a foundation for Bible Translation work. Jim has a M.A. in Linguistics from NEIU in Chicago.

Jim’s favorite Scripture is Philippians 2:13 (GNT): “God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose.”

Jim and Laura, both from central Illinois, now live in rural Newark, Illinois They are members of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Yorkville, where Jim serves on the Missions committee.

Jim and Laura have four children and eight grandchildren.
