Faith in Action: Eunice’s Mission

In the bustling markets of Bo, Sierra Leone, Eunice Samba is a beacon of light, sharing Scripture with the Mende-speaking community. Her journey with Lutheran Bible Translators began humbly as a typist with limited literacy in her native language. But Eunice’s commitment and faith ignited a transformation. “I wanted to read and write Mende, to bring God’s Word to my people,” she says. Within six months, Eunice had developed the skills to become an essential part of the translation team.

Today, she and her team work tirelessly to bring God’s Word to the Mende people. The New Testament, first published in 2002, has already inspired individuals like Samuel, a local man who learned to read Mende and found faith. Yet, many still wrestle between tradition and faith.

Please pray for Eunice, her team, and the Mende community. May God grant strength, wisdom, and protection as they navigate cultural complexities to bring the hope, life, and transformation of Scripture to the Mende people.
