Martin and Joan Weber

Meet the Missionary

Martin and Joan Weber served in Cameroon for 38 years before retiring. While mentoring the Kwanja translation team, they also dedicated their time to training literacy teachers and developing audio Scripture materials. After the Kwanja New Testament was dedicated, they continued to work in Cameroon with Lutheran Bible Translators under the Cameroon Lutheran Church, to equip and encourage nationals in Bible translation, literacy and using the Scriptures in seven language projects.

They retired from full-time service with Lutheran Bible Translators at the end of 2020, but now they are once again working in Cameroon as adjunct missionaries to encourage, train, and enable national translators and literacy workers in Cameroon. Several language groups are now working towards completing their full Bibles in the language they understand best! Praise God! Please pray they will really use these Scriptures to grow in true discipleship. (John 8:32)
