Summary

The Marketing & Social Media Creator plays a vital role in advancing LBT’s mission by ensuring clear, compelling, and brand-aligned communication across all channels. This position is responsible for refining marketing content, supporting campaign execution, and managing social media engagement to inspire prayer, partnership, and curiosity about Bible translation.

The role is split evenly between Marketing (50%) and Social Media (50%). The role is responsible for marketing materials for print and digital platforms, collaborate with the advancement team to maintain consistency across campaigns, and assist with multimedia projects. On the social media side, the position supports the development and implementation of monthly content strategies, drafts engaging posts, sources stories and visuals, and monitors audience interaction. By shaping LBT’s online presence and storytelling, this role helps connect donors, partners, and global communities to the transformative impact of Scripture.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Marketing/Communications (50%)
    • Review and edit marketing materials for accuracy and brand compliance.
    • Refine and edit marketing content for clarity, tone, and professionalism.
    • Ensure messaging, visuals, and design comply with brand guidelines.
    • Polish final drafts for print and digital channels.
    • Collaborate with advancement team members to maintain consistency across campaigns.
    • Assist with editorial review for multimedia projects, print products, and promotional materials.
  • Social Media (50%)
    • Develop and implement social media content that reflects the organization’s mission, vision, and brand identity.
    • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and content calendar, ensuring timely delivery across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube).
    • Collaborate with advancement leadership and the Content Strategy Manager to align social media with broader campaigns and monthly strategies.
    • Create and repurpose engaging content—including copy, photos, stories, Scripture references, and short-form videos—while maintaining brand voice and theological integrity.
    • Support campaign planning for awareness initiatives, donor engagement, events, and Scripture impact storytelling.
    • Monitor audience engagement, respond thoughtfully to comments and messages, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages prayer and partnership.
    • Track performance metrics, prepare monthly analytics summaries, and identify trends and engagement opportunities within LCMS and global mission communities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Preferred candidate will have a Lutheran background and strong knowledge of the faith.
  • Strong emphasis on visual communication and design.
  • Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail and storytelling.
  • Solid grasp of current social media trends, metrics, and best practices.
  • Ability to learn LBT brand voice, mission narratives, and theological nuances.
  • Self-starter who enjoys collaboration, creativity, and iterative feedback.
  • Comfortable engaging with audiences online in a professional manner.

Education and Experience

  • Experience managing social media accounts—personal, professional, or organizational.
  • Experience with basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) preferred.
  • Experience with video editing tools is preferred.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer or performing other tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required.
