Community Engagement is crucial to translation
A foundation of the Lutheran Bible Translators’ approach is community engagement.
A facilitator partner with local leadership to conduct research within the language community to determine the best course of action for the context. In many cases, a New Testament translation is pursued. However, a program can start with a smaller scale effort – the Gospels or a panoramic Bible. Unwritten languages may desire audio Scripture and build community interest from there.

Bible translation is not a solo endeavor, it is a journey for every language community.
