Rev. Dr. Glenn & Susan Fluegge

Meet the Missionary

Rev. Dr. Glenn & Susan Fluegge have recently joined Lutheran Bible Translators, where Glenn serves as the Seminary Program Coordinator, collaborating with partner institutions worldwide to train local Bible translators. Glenn also continues to serve as professor of theology at Concordia University Irvine, CA.

Through a unique partnership between Concordia and Lutheran Bible Translators, Glenn and Susan are deployed part of the year in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where Glenn teaches classes and fosters the ongoing partnership with the Mekane Yesus Seminary. When deployed, Susan continues her role online as administrative assistant to the school of arts and sciences at Concordia.

Glenn has over 25 years of experience in seminary and theological education. He and Susan were called as LCMS missionaries to Togo from 1998 to 2009, where Glenn served as an instructor and director of the Centre Luthérien d’Etudes Théologiques, an international seminary for French-speaking Africa. They were then called to Pretoria, South Africa where Glenn served as lecturer at the Lutheran Theological Seminary from 2009 to 2012. Upon returning to the United States in 2012, Glenn served as director of the Cross-Cultural Ministry Center, a seminary program at Concordia University Irvine that trains pastors for the LCMS.
