Rev. Kierien Ekpang Ayugha is an international associate of LBT and a Bible Translation Advisor to the Utugwang translation project.

During his years of training at the Jonathan Ekong Memorial Lutheran Seminary of the Lutheran Church of Nigeria, Kierien also worked with the Huba, C’Lela, Mgbolizhia, and Lis ma Ron languages. After graduating, he served as a parish pastor while continuing training in Scripture engagement. During this time he also ran several workshops to promote further use of God’s Word. Later, Kierien studied at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible translation.

Kierien maintains a Facebook page entitled “Ke Eja-Bokyi”—translated “In Bokyi Language”—which shares information and reading lessons. Kierien is also the author of “Reading Bokyi without Tears”, which is designed to assist Bokyi speakers to read their mother tongue.

Kierien and his family have been involved in Bible translation since the early days of LBT. His father is one of the three translators who produced the complete Bible in the Bokyi language of Cross River State, Nigeria. Kierien and Charity Ayugha’s family includes 5 daughters. Charity and the children are talented vocal musicians.
