Missionaries Paul and Grace Closius
Missionaries Paul and Grace Closius are associates of Lutheran Bible Translators and work under the administrative oversight of Wycliffe, USA. They live in Waxhaw, N.C. where they serve at the JAARS Service Center. Their life’s work aligns with the famous words of C.T. Studd:
“Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”
Paul records and edits audio files of ethnic language recordings, primarily New Testament books. There are 50 programs which present a clear story about Jesus, including his teachings, with the core truths that Christians affirm. Paul’s motivation is to serve the Lord Jesus with gladness, using his skills in electronics to transform written Bible texts to audio messages from God for primarily oral audiences.
Grace’s love is working with children—with the CEF after school program at the local elementary school.
To Become a Missionary Is to Change Lives
During these past two years, amazing progress has been made in preparing Guanano and Piratapuyo radio programs from recorded Scriptures, thanks to Paul Closius, Rick Herr, and Ray Rising. I can just picture the people in their hammocks around a fire someday, listening to programs like the Christmas story being read over the radio in their very own language!
LBT is seeking Lutherans to serve overseas through the ministry of Bible translation and Scripture Engagement. If you feel that God may be leading you towards missions or if you wish to make Bible translation donations for a missionary, LBT may have a place for you.
